Commercial Properties Limited are pleased to have had Brett Kay & Evan Watson as summer students! Our team is appreciative of their hard work over the past couple months.
To get acquainted, we asked Brett a few quick questions…
What are you studying in school?
I am currently going into my 4th year at UNB Fredericton and I am completing my Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Media Arts & Cultures as well as getting my Bachelor of Computer Science.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time I enjoy being active either by weightlifting or playing basketball. If I am not being active, I tend to hangout with friends or play and stream video games/watch movies.
What did you enjoy most during this work experience?
I loved working on projects. I really enjoyed teaming up with Evan and the Maintenance team on the MSDS update project as well as the electronics pickup project. The daily tracking of water consumption for all the buildings was also very interesting to me.
What did you learn working with Commercial Properties?
Finishing up my second summer with CPL I learned a lot! Being an Operations Student has helped me with my professional development. Collaborating with my manager on tasks & projects helped me progress as I received feedback on my work and ways to improve, which is very valuable to me as I strive to advance my workplace skills.
Which Commercial Properties Building is your favorite and why?
Spending most of my time in the Red Rose tea building I would have to say its my favorite. The building has lots of character and the office is very aesthetically pleasing. I enjoy the view of the water and being close to restaurants, so it was a very easy choice for me.

What are you studying in school?
I am currently at the University of New Brunswick studying Mechanical Engineering, with another three years left in my degree.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time I enjoy spending time at my cottage on Oromocto Lake, hanging out with friends, or playing sports like hockey and volleyball.
What did you enjoy most during this work experience?
At CPL, I enjoy working with the other members of our team. Everyone here at CPL are amazing people and I am very thankful to have the privilege of working with this company.
What did you learn working with Commercial Properties?
Since starting at CPL, I have learned what exactly goes into property upkeep and management on a large scale. This team works hard at ensuring our properties are in the best condition possible and it has been a valuable experience for me to see what they do day to day.
Which Commercial Properties Building is your favorite and why?
My personal favorite CPL building is 274 Sydney Street, the Ordinance Building. Although the building looks much different now than it did when it was first built back in the 1842, it still has a historic air and importance surrounding it, giving it a feel like no other building at CPL.
